Charlotte Marcus was a woman of many passions. She personified a healthy attitude and lifestyle that kept her young, active and way ahead of her times. In the early 1950s when much of the world still indulged in white bread, her love for good health and vitality took her, and her family, on a journey that even by today's standards, would be considered cutting edge. Charlotte opened Natural Habitat, a fasting retreat in Seekonk, Massachusetts in1983, where in addition to fasting, she taught her guests how to lose those last ten pounds and keep them off (a private obsession of hers). Her desire to share her secrets of healthy living, positive thinking and right eating habits beyond those attending her retreat center, inspired her to write this book. She died suddenly at the age of 95 before completing her manuscript. Her son, David, took it upon himself to compile and publish her writings and fulfill her wishes to bring her work to those who like her, want to feel young and vital, no matter their age.
