In the first part of the series, you'll compare several of the new methods for retrieving data using ADO.NET. In this second part, you'll take a look at some of the default settings of ASP.NET web forms and server–side controls, and find ways to improve performance. You'll also learn some other cool tools that can significantly boost performance. In the third part, you'll investigate some ways to improve performance when rendering retrieved data into a grid. You'll also develop your own grid logic that is specific to your needs but maintains the ease of development provided by the DataGrid.
