Refactoring and ASP by Jon Spokes
Description
The release of ASP.NET has generated dozens of articles describing the wonderful things that .NET can do. Most of these assume that you are starting new projects with all the latest software at your fingertips. However, the majority of development energy is directed at the maintenance and upgrade of legacy applications. As such, this article aims to provide a roadmap for moving and improving legacy ASP 2/3 source code, with the goal of converting it to ASP.NET. As an example, the article uses an idea from the extreme programming school — refactoring — and applies it to ASP development problems.
